Higher Education - Marina and Jacqueline

Marina Sherriff and Jacqueline Cowley

"I was quite nervous about returning to education after such a long break, but the staff have been very understanding and supportive of my needs. Our class is a real mix of ages, nationalities and backgrounds, and we all get along really well."

Marina Sherriff

"Once I started I was made to feel comfortable with all the teachers and the rest of my class. It’s a really friendly atmosphere to learn in."

Jacqueline Cowley

Marina and Jacqueline are currently enrolled on the Higher National Certificate in Business Management. Marina is seeking to improve her qualifications to move on at her current position working full-time for a charity. Jacqueline, a full-time mother, has already completed GCSEs and A Levels at the college, and is looking to start a new career at the end of her course. Students have the opportunity to follow a Higher Education course locally with the added advantage of a flexible study pattern that facilitates part-time employment and reduces the cost of Higher Education to local students.

Dental Nursing - Toni Bragg

"The tutors are really nice people – they’re open to helping you outside of teaching hours. It’s good to know that they’re at the other end of the phone if you need them."

Toni Bragg

Toni Bragg, originally from Australia but now living in Buckhurst Hill, gained a distinction in the Dental Nurses National Certificate at the college last year. She is now planning to take an Oral Hygiene short course next year in order to progress from being a Dental Nurse to a Dental Hygienist.
